Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on 18 November, 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix was a natural at athletics early on discovering her speedy abilities while she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following the first time she tried, she finished second in the 200 meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school by signing a contract as a professional athlete with the athletics company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix's debut Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the record of world juniors for the 200m race in 22.18 secs. She was the youngest world athlete to win the 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently at the top of the podium throughout her events at the Olympics that took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
